Living The FITT Life means incorporating your health & fitness goals into your routine to create an enjoyable and maintainable lifestyle. Fitness should ADD to your quality of life, not take away from it, so there’s always room for treats, dinner out or a few drinks. Exercise can be fun and simple tasks like gardening or walking the dog can all contribute towards your goals by getting your NEAT up!

Whats NEAT? Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis or more simply, moving more outside of the designated workout time!

Diets can be tedious & boring, so learning to cook QUICK, SIMPLE & HEALTHY recipes can be really important to help build a healthy relationship with food and begin to understand your calories & macros. Learning when to adapt your intake to allow for ‘cheats’, special occasions & holidays can provide comfort rather than guilt when you overindulge and help you stay on track.

Technology and Apps can be a great way to help you track progress. Smart phones & watches are helpful for monitoring movement and setting step goals and ‘My Fitness Pal’ is a great app for recording all your food & drink intake and setting calorie targets. I think setting a daily step target is a great way to make sure you don’t get inactive for too long, 10,000 per day is a decent goal!

Remember its a LIFESTYLE choice, there’s no quick fix to being fit & healthy!
